The client

Geely is a prominent automotive brand operating in the UAE under AGMC and the Albatha Group. With a growing line-up of new and certified pre-owned vehicles, the brand wanted to elevate its digital presence and give customers a seamless way to shop, reserve and book online — not just browse a brochure site.

The challenge

The brief was demanding: an intuitive yet robust ecommerce platform that could handle complex retail journeys — online vehicle reservations, test-drive bookings and secure payments — while integrating cleanly with existing dealership operations and performing fast across the UAE market.

Buying a car is a high-consideration decision, so the storefront had to feel as polished as the showroom. We set out to turn Geely's site into a true commerce destination — one where customers could explore the range, reserve a vehicle and book a test drive without ever leaving the page. That meant pairing thoughtful web development with a content model the dealership team could actually run.

What we built

  • A headless storefront on Next.js, with Sanity managing every vehicle, spec and campaign.
  • Custom ecommerce flows on Medusa.JS for reservations and online purchase of new and certified pre-owned cars.
  • A test-drive booking system wired into existing dealership operations.
  • Secure payment gateways and a user-centric design tuned for performance across the UAE.

Why it works

The result is a platform that lets customers explore, reserve and buy entirely online, and positions Geely as a forward-thinking leader in the regional automotive industry. The headless foundation means the team can launch new models and campaigns without waiting on a release cycle.

The approach

01

User-centric design & journeys

We mapped the full buyer journey — from exploring models to reserving a vehicle and booking a test drive — and designed an interface that makes a high-consideration purchase feel effortless on any device.

02

Headless commerce build

We built the storefront on Next.js with Medusa.js powering custom ecommerce logic and Sanity managing content — a composable stack that supports vehicle reservations, test-drive bookings and secure payment gateways.

03

Integration & launch

We integrated secure payment processing and aligned the platform with existing operations, then tuned performance so the experience is fast and reliable for buyers across the Emirates.

Questions

Can you build an automotive ecommerce website in Dubai?

Yes. We design and build full car-dealership and automotive ecommerce platforms for the UAE market, exactly as we did for Geely under AGMC and the Albatha Group. The scope covered the complete buyer journey — browsing new and certified pre-owned vehicles, online reservations, test-drive bookings and secure payments — rather than a brochure site. Everything was tuned to perform fast and convert for digital-first buyers across the Emirates.

What technology stack did you use for the Geely platform, and why?

We built Geely on a composable headless stack: Next.js and React 19 for a fast, SEO-friendly storefront, Medusa.js for custom commerce logic, and Sanity as the CMS. Medusa gives us the flexibility to model unconventional commerce flows like vehicle reservations and test-drive bookings, which off-the-shelf platforms struggle with. Sanity lets the dealership team manage every vehicle, spec and campaign without a developer, while the headless architecture keeps the front-end quick and decoupled from back-end changes.

Can customers reserve a vehicle and book a test drive online?

Yes. We implemented both online vehicle reservation and test-drive booking flows for Geely, so a customer can move from browsing the range to a committed action without ever leaving the site. The test-drive system was wired directly into the dealership's existing operations, so bookings reach the right team rather than sitting in an inbox. Pairing reservations with secure online payment turns the storefront into a genuine commerce destination, not just a lead form.

How did you integrate the platform with the dealership's existing operations and payments?

A key part of the brief was that the new platform had to slot cleanly into how AGMC already runs Geely day to day. We integrated secure payment processing for online reservations and purchases, and aligned reservation and test-drive flows with existing dealership operations so the showroom teams worked from one source of truth. We then tuned performance so the experience stays fast and reliable for buyers right across the UAE.

Can the platform support Arabic and right-to-left layouts for the UAE market?

Yes. Our builds are architected for English and Arabic with full right-to-left rendering, which is essential for serving a bilingual customer base across the UAE. Content is localised at the field level, so the same vehicle, spec or campaign can carry both languages from a single source. That means the dealership reaches the widest possible audience in Dubai and beyond without maintaining two separate sites.

How long did the project take, and what was the outcome?

We designed, built and launched the platform in roughly ten weeks during 2024. The result is a storefront that lets Geely customers explore, reserve and buy entirely online, positioning the brand as a forward-thinking leader in the regional automotive market. Because it is headless, the team can launch new models and campaigns whenever they want, without waiting on a release cycle — so the platform keeps paying off long after launch.
